Collection: Kesa color

Mulan (Kesa color) is a special color in traditional Chinese culture, derived from the name of a plant and also a color of monk's robe. In Buddhist culture, Mulan color represents the aesthetics of humility and restraint, it is one of the non-regular colors in Buddhist attire. The use of this color reflects Buddhism's indifferent attitude towards material and appearance, as well as its emphasis on spiritual and internal cultivation. The historical records of Mulan color are related to the tyrant Shi Hu, the eminent monk of the Jin Dynasty, and the Mulan of the Western Shu. It is a brownish color, also known as Qiantuo color, with profound cultural symbolism and historical memory.
