Product Inspiration

This hand-woven two-color double pendant bracelet was created by the National Museum Of History's legendary Tang Dynasty Tri-Color Civil Official Figurine, inspired by manifestation (manifest).

The Tang Dynasty saw the prevalence of three-color pottery, a kind of colorful pottery, often referred to simply as Tang Sancai, which was mainly used for burials. It was mainly used for burials, and the fluidity of the glaze was often utilized to make the different colors of glaze blend with each other, presenting you with a beautiful aesthetic. This is a Sancai figurine of a civil official from the Tang dynasty, standing straight up with a solemn expression, arching his hand in front of his chest in what appears to be a wutu posture, his face and crown and hat unglazed, his clothes mainly in brown color, his waistcoat and sleeve edges adorned with variegated glazes, and he is a tall and finely detailed piece of work.

Colour Matching

Spring Willow is a faintly visible light yellow color, originating from the "Ji Jiu Pian" edited by the Western Han scholar Shi You. It is described as a color between yellow and white, rich in poetic and delicate observation of natural colors. In ancient Chinese, Banjian is one of many color vocabulary words, reflecting the sensitivity and importance of ancient people to subtle color differences. This color is associated with the color of willows in spring, reminiscent of the pale yellow hue of willow buds in early spring. In literary works and the field of art, the color Banjian has a wide range of applications.

Reddish-Yellow is the color used in ancient clothing to cover the part from the thighs to the knees. In ancient society, different social classes used different colors for knee covers, such as kings using vermilion red, doctors using plain white, and scholars using reddish-brown. The use of this color reflects the hierarchical system of ancient society. In addition, knee covers also carry the culture and values of ancient society, and through the use of colors, one can glimpse the hierarchical divisions, clothing customs, and aesthetic preferences for colors in ancient society.

Honeyed is the color of refined honey in traditional Chinese medicine, and it was also a popular color in the clothing culture of the Ming and Qing dynasties. During the process of refining honey, the yellow-white color is called honeyed, which is suitable for making honeyed pills. Honeyed pills originated in the Han Dynasty and were not only used in the field of traditional Chinese medicine but also in incense making. The honeyed color frequently appeared in clothing during the Ming and Qing dynasties, demonstrating its popularity. In addition to honeyed pills, there are also coated pills and wax-coated pills as pharmaceutical forms. As a color with practical and aesthetic value, honeyed holds a unique position in traditional Chinese medicine and clothing culture.

Imperial Green is a bright and calm green color that was used in the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. It gives a sense of solemnity and is used in court clothing, literary works, and daily life. The restoration techniques and ancient dyeing methods of official green have also been preserved. It plays a unique role in Chinese traditional color culture, inspiring people's pursuit and creation of beauty.
